One of the largest bodyhops in the world is dumping Tiger Woods because he
enjoyed too many beautiful bodies. Ironic, eh?

You all have heard it, but here is the Examiner s take on the situation:

Accenture, Tiger Woods are done - former Arthur Anderson consulting
firm drops Tiger Woods. -- After the [car] accident, alleged
mistresses came out of the woodwork. Along with the alleged
mistresses were rumors of re-negotiated prenuptial agreements,
rumors of "hush money" to keep mistresses quiet, drug fueled sex,
prostitution, and more. Of course, Tiger Woods has not spoken
publicly on the rumors, except to express regret for "infidelity.
"Everything else remains rumors.[Accenture, Tiger Woods are done
-consulting firm drops Tiger Woods]

The title of that article gives a clue who Accenture is. This Wikipedia
article [link below] is a good start for more information. Accenture is a
remnant of Arthur Andersen of Enron infamy. Accenture moved to Bermuda to
avoid taxes, and then moved to Ireland.

Be sure to watch this [link below] Accenture TV advertisement featuring Tiger
Woods. The main question that is asked is: "Are high performers made or re-
made?" The question was never answered but without question Tiger is a high
performer on and off the golf course.

For a fun version of what may have happened when Tiger crashed his car don t
miss this one: "The Amazing Animated Version Of The Tiger Woods Crash." [link
below] It s in Chinese but you will have no problem understanding the message.

So, the most important question besides whether Tiger Woods is going to stay
married to Elin Nordegren is: Is Accenture really a bodyshop?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term "bodyshop", they are
contract agencies that act as a third party contractor for employers.
Usually they import foreign workers on visas such as H-1B/L-1. Many of us in
high tech career fields equate them with slave lords or global labor
arbitragers.

Some people consider Accenture a bodyshop. This article from Seeking Alpha
makes it clear right up front:

Is Accenture (ACN) still in the body-shop business model? Yep. Why
ruin a good thing when it s working, some would ask. And India
continues to be a strong leverage point for Accenture s
outsourcing activities, with a new consulting center opened in the
last quarter.

In my opinion Accenture doesn t meet the classical definition of a "bodyshop"
because most of their business is Business Process Outsourcer (BPO). Their
mainstay is outsourcing jobs to India. In 2008 Information Week reported that
Accenture had more employees (35,000) than any other foreign owned company in
India. Make no mistake about it, Accenture is one of the kings of labor
arbitrage because they offshore jobs from the U.S. to India from every
industry, government, and public utility you can imagine
-- but their importation of foreign workers is relatively small compared to
Tata, Infosys, or any of the real bodyshops.

Tiger Woods scandal: Tiger Woods allegedly offered Rachel Uchitel View all ;

Accenture and Tiger Woods are done, according to reports that have surfaced
over the weekend. Accenture is the former consulting arm of Arthur Anderson.
Arthur Anderson was a big 8 accounting firm that collapsed during the infamous
Enron Scandal. Accenture split from Anderson two years before their collapse,
and they used Tiger Woods in their marketing campaigns, using the slogan "Go
ahead, be a Tiger." Accenture was not associated with Anderson at the time of
the collapse.

Accenture is the first sponsor to officially drop Tiger Woods altogether, but
Gillette and Gatorade have both previously announced reduced roles for the pro
golfer in their marketing campaigns. Gillette is honoring Tiger's request for
privacy by suspending the use of the golfer in their marketing campaigns for
an unspecified amount of time. Gatorade dropped the "Tiger Focus" line of
sports drinks, although the company maintains that the decision was made
"months" ago before word of the scandal broke.

Tiger Woods has been on a downward spiral ever since the National Enquirer
announced that he was allegedly having an affair with Rachel Uchitel.
Uchitel denied the affair at first, and even went so far as to indicate that
the National Enquirer's "source" was a former acquaintance that had a drug and
prostitution problem. Rachel Uchitel hired celebrity attorney Gloria Allred,
and eventually has spoken out and all but admitted the alleged affair.

Tiger Woods was then involved in a single car accident outside his exclusive
Florida estate. It was rumored that Tiger and Elin Woods were arguing about
the alleged affair prior to the incident. Tiger and Elin dodged the Florida
Highway Patrol for some time, and the authorities wrapped up their
investigation by giving Tiger Woods a citation. It has been reported that
Child Protective Investigators paid a visit to the Woods residence this
weekend, which gives the rumors of domestic violence a little more credibility
than before. However, Tiger maintains that there was no domestic violence
around the time of the accident.

After the accident, alleged mistresses came out of the woodwork. Along with
the alleged mistresses were rumors of re-negotiated prenuptial agreements,
rumors of "hush money" to keep mistresses quiet, drug fueled sex,
prostitution, and more. Of course, Tiger Woods has not spoken publicly on the
rumors, except to express regret for "infidelity." Everything else remains
rumors.

Given the fact that consulting firms have to operate on an image, having a
celebrity face of someone that won't come right out and address the truth -
Accenture made a wise decision of terminating Tiger Woods at this point in
time. If Tiger recovers his image, Accenture can always pick him back up.

Tiger Woods still has several sponsors. It isn't likely that every single one
will abandon Tiger. It's also not likely that Tiger Woods will stay away from
the golf course forever. It has been rumored that Elin Woods stopped wearing
her wedding ring and that she is thinking about filing for divorce after
Christmas. If she leaves him, then his reasons for his break from golf
(becoming a better father and husband) are moot.

Even though it makes good business sense for Accenture to drop Tiger Woods,
the public shouldn't stop supporting him. After all, none of the looming
scandal will take away from his talent for golf. Donald Trump thinks that
Tiger Woods will fully recover from this scandal (see the video clip of
Donald's thoughts here).

Is Accenture (ACN) still in the body-shop business model? Yep. Why ruin a good
thing when it s working, some would ask. And India continues to be a strong
leverage point for Accenture s outsourcing activities, with a new consulting
center opened in the last quarter. This was also reflected in the 40% increase
in staff being strongest in India and the Philippines (41% increase YoY Q1).

The more general question was, given the financial crisis, real estate crisis,
oil crisis and any other calamity, how was Accenture going to handle the
expectations of a rougher market in the weeks following early November 2007.
At the time, CEO Bill Green believed that Accenture was strategically
positioned to meet customers needs on a long-term basis to handle the
economic turmoil of the market. So far, he has been right. Its revenue growth
for Q1 was the strongest in Asia (29%), with European markets coming in second
(25%) and the Americas last (11%) by percentage.

Accenture s original guidance for 2008 Q1 was $5.46 billion. Q1 posted
revenues came in mid-December reflecting an increase of 19% to $5.67 billion,
beating expectations. This performance was split $3.5 billion from consulting
and $2.2 billion from outsourcing. YoY gross margins were flat at 30.1% for
Q1, and SG&A expenses, while at $970 million, were slightly less by percentage
of revenue, showing improved cost management. Its net income posted at $506
million, which is 25% higher than was posted during the same quarter, the
previous year. Accenture reaffirmed its full year revenue growth outlook of 9%
to 12% versus what analysts believed would come in at 11.2% growth. However,
cash was $120 million to the negative due to increased spending in operating
activities ($31 million), and property/equipment purchases ($89 million).

Q2 revenue guidance has been adjusted to now project between $5.5-5.7 billion,
which again is higher than analysts estimates of $5.3 billion.

So far, the practice of customer satisfaction through long-term client
relationships has been profitable. Much of the earlier market fear was based
on Accenture s business consisting 22% in financial services.

The company's overall cash balance, after adjustment, totaled $2.47 billion
versus $3.3 billion at the end of August. Given Accenture s strength, and with
a hefty cash balance in the bank, is it then conceivable that it might want to
increase its leverage in India? There are numerous Indian services companies
that would entertain the idea of being acquired by Accenture.

Of course, the other option is for Infosys (INFY) and Accenture to merge,
which I am sure is crossing some people's minds.
