It appears that President Obama is so happy with the recent unemployment
numbers he decided that Labor Secretary Solis isn't needed in the U.S.
Actually, Obama might be doing American workers a favor by getting her out of
the country. That's probably why the stock market has been going up.

To understand just how bad unemployment really is, read this article:

Based on monthly job losses for October, about 6300 jobs have been lost every
day Solis has been globe trotting to Honduras. The U.S. has had 22nd straight
months of job losses.

11/08/09 - A California Reader Understands Why Michael Moore Loves Barack
Obama NJ Financial Analyst Asks: With Unemployment At 10%, What Is Labor
Secretary Solis Doing In Honduras?

Re: Edwin S. Rubenstein s Blog: October Jobs: Even Worse Than The
Headlines Immigration Moratorium Now

To prove how little President Barack Obama cares about the 10.2 percent
unemployment rate, consider that last week he sent Secretary of Labor Hilda
Solis to Honduras to oversee the "Verification Commission" to resolve that
country s political crisis.

As if any unemployed American gives a hoot about what s going on in
Tegucigalpa!

In a sane world, Solis (who one assumes would play a pivotal role in an
employment recovery) and Obama would be working hand in hand to fulfill his
campaign promise to create 3-5 million new jobs.

Solis, who got her appointment only because Obama perceives that she can lure
Hispanic voters, is a throughly unqualified Cabinet member.

Sending Solis to Honduras at this critical juncture for American workers
reinforces how callous Obama is on employment.

OAS Names Committee Members
November 1st, 2009 7 2 Comments

Former Chilean President Ricardo Lagos, and Secretary of Labor in the United
States, Hilda Solis, form part of the verification committee of the agreement
to resolve the political crisis in Honduras, where they will travel next
Tuesday to begin work, said the OAS today.

Manuel Zelaya, and the Acting Chairman, Roberto Micheletti, named Jorge Arturo
Reina and Corrales as their representatives. Corrales himself today confirmed
the appointment with HRN radio while Zelaya did the same with respect to Reina
via Radio Globo.

Corrales, a businessman and former presidential candidate of the Christian
Democrats, is a member of the commission of Micheletti s who negotiated and
signed the agreement on Friday with the delegation of Zelaya.

Reina is a former member of the governing Liberal Party, and has been the
ambassador of the Zelaya government to the United Nations. Corrales and Reina
are known as skilled negotiators.

One of the points of the agreement included the establishment by the
Organization of American States (OAS) of a Commission of Verification for
compliance with the agreement, which will consist of "two members of the
international community and two members of the national community".

Insulza said the two international members will arrive in Tegucigalpa on
Tuesday November 3rd to meet with Jorge Arturo Reina and Corrales. Both will
travel accompanied by Secretary of Political Affairs of the OAS, Victor Rico,
and a delegation of senior officials of the organization.

Another point of the greement that must be met this week, is the formation of
a government of national unity and reconciliation, whose deadline is set for
Thursday, November 5th.

Corrales said the Credentials Committee will monitor compliance with
agreements such as the integration of the government of reconciliation,
renouncing to convene a Constituent Assembly, and to support and not boycott
the elections on the 29th, among others.

Congress, which is in recess for the election campaign, has not yet announced
when it will meet to discuss the return of Zelaya.

The agreement does not state who will chair the reconciliation government, nor
set a deadline for the ruling of the National Congress on Zelaya.

Verification Commission
The verification commission members have been named. Ricardo Lagos, former
President of Chile will be one of the international representatives named by
the OAS. Hilda Solis, US Secretary of Labor has also been named as the other
OAS representative. Earlier reporting had suggested that Colin Powell would be
named, but that appears to be an error.

The Micheletti representative to the verification commission will be Arturo
Corrales, previously of his negotiating commission. Manuel Zelaya has named
Jorge Arturo Reina Idiaquez, his UN representative.
